Annual Awards for SD Realtors

Each year, South Dakota REALTORS® proudly acknowledges REALTOR® members for their volunteerism and excellence in civic, business, leadership, and educational service. Throughout the year, South Dakota REALTORS® honors the accomplishments of select members through prestigious awards and who are experts in their fields, advocates in their communities and leaders amongst their peers.

REALTOR® of the Year

The REALTOR® of the Year program is to recognize a REALTOR® member from one of the Local Member Boards who has provided outstanding service to their community; to the local, state and national associations and to the real estate profession in South Dakota.

Good Neighbor Award

The South Dakota REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recognizes REALTOR® members who made an extraordinary commitment to community service on the local, state and national level. This annual award seeks to highlight, inspire, and perpetuate the individual contributions within the real estate industry toward improving the livability throughout the State of South Dakota, as well as financially support the non-profits that exist to do the same.

The winner is chosen annually and receives a $1,500.00 donation to the charity organization of their choice. The winner is recognized at the REALTOR® Convention of the Dakotas in September.

Rising Stars

Rising Star Award recognizes members that have been in the industry for five years or less.
The nominee must have been licensed at least 5 years or less and must be a member in good
standing. The purpose is to recognize the REALTORS® who are new to the profession, who promote
professional enthusiasm, and best exemplifies the Code of Ethics.

REALTOR® Mark of Excellence Award

The SDR Realtor^® Mark of Excellence Award is an annual award and recipients must qualify each year by obtaining a minimum of 1,000 points. Recipients are recognized and honored during the Association’s Board of Directors meeting held in January/February of each year.

Qualification for this award is available by being an active participant in the following areas: Community Service Involvement, Political Involvement, Professional Development Involvement, SD REALTORS® Leadership Academy; Involvement in Institutes, Societies and Councils, and Local, State and National Association Involvement.
