Serving your Educational & Charitable Needs

The SD REALTORS^® Foundation is organized exclusively for Charitable and Educational purposes. The SDR Foundation consists of 8 board members from various local associations in the state. Each member of the Foundation Board of Directors serves a five-year term and is appointed the SDR President.

The SDR Foundation got its start in the early 1980’s, when a group of active real estate brokers saw the need to establish a tax exempt entity to provide an excellent vehicle for REALTORS^® and friends of the real estate industry, through tax deductible contributions, to support a variety of worthy goals.

The fund was started with a fundraising drive. The Foundation fund continues to grow with donations,
memorials, bequests and money set aside by the Association. Each year, the SD REALTORS^® Foundation also hosts fundraising events for REALTORS^® from across the state to participate and raise money for a number of causes.

 

Vision & Mission

The foundation’s vision is to build an endowment fund to meet the professional educational and charitable needs of REALTORS^®, their families and communies. The mission is simple, if we can dream it….we can achieve it.

 

Aspiring to Impact Communities & the Future

• What if your grandchildren could apply for a post-secondary educational scholarship to go to college from
  the SDR Foundation?
• What if your elderly neighbor could receive housing assistance payments for heat or rent from the SDR Foundation?
• What if a charitable donation could be made from the SDR Foundation to another charitable entity to assist local communities affected by natural disasters?
• What if financial assistance for educational instruction could be provided to the local school system from the SDR Foundation?

Many REALTORS^® feel a sense of gratitude for the success they have realized in this profession and want to give something back to the real estate industry. Contributors tell us they want to leave a lasting legacy so they know their lives made a difference. Consider making a contribution in any of the following ways:

Memorials

Memorial contributions to the Foundation are a fitting way of honoring deceased members of the South Dakota Association of REALTORS^®, especially those members who were long standing in their support of REALTOR^® ideals. Whether the deceased is a family member, friend or co-worker, it’s a great way to create a lasting legacy.

Gifts

Gifts to the Foundation may be made through a one-time contribution, or may be pledged and given over a
period of several months or years. Gifts, trusts and grants may also be designated for a specific purpose
through the Foundation.

Wills & Bequests

Memorial contributions are a fitting way of remembering and honoring deceased SDR members. REALTORS^® and other interested persons are encouraged to remember the Foundation when making wills, bequests or assigning insurance. Gifts, trusts and grants may be made through a one-time contribution, or may be pledged and given over a period of several months or years. Gifts may also be designated for a specific purpose through the Foundation.
